  1. Meetings will be the SECOND MONDAY of every month, starting at 7pm. The goal is to have social face meetings during "off season" ie. Dave & Busters / CoinOp, fun things. Official guild business meetings will be online until the 2017 Guild Kickoff, which is being pushed back to minimize loss of enthusiasm. November 14 - At Rady's December 12th - online via Discord January 9th - online via Discord February 13th March 13th April 10th Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time, we usually run about an hour's worth of business. We encourage people to show up early, and stay abit after for socializing and word of mouth. At Rady's = - This meeting will be at Rady Children's Hospital; 3020 Children's Way, 92123 Discord = This meeting will be held online via Discord VOIP. - a link will be provided ahead of the meeting. - if you intend to speak, you will need to provide your own headset / mic and set up push to talk, which requires you to download the client, otherwise you may type into the chat.
  2. Guildies, in case you are unfamiliar with the FB algorithms for group communication, the longer someone goes without interacting with the group page or at least a group member, the LESS LIKELY they are to see group topics in their feed. In a nutshell here is how it works, the full article is here. "Affinity is your relationship with users." "Weight is based on the post type. (based on Edgerank)" "Time decay how old is your post?" "there are actually four specific action-points that are used by EdgeRank each time you post. These aren’t necessarily fool-proof guarantees that your post will hit the News Feeds of your fans, but they’re all good indicators of the likelihood of that. The four specific points are these: user’s past interactions with the authoruser’s past interactions with that post typereactions from other users for that particular postamount of complaints or negative feedback on that post"The above was either copied directly or loosely from the article which was written in 2013, doubtless the algorithms have changed in that time but the article is very easy to read and understand, as such it provides a good starting point. Here is Facebook's version These are major reasons we are trying to move to the forums, please get the Tapatalk app for your phone and set it up, then you will get notifications just like FB does, without worrying about missing something important in your feed. Our monthly meetings are awesome, at an awesome location, but we always seem to have the same people, part of this could be a by-product of summer taking its toll on guilds, and part of it could be the way FB algorithms work. I would like love to get our core active group up around 20+ ... by core active I mean monthly attendees at meetings on a regular basis who are actually participating in guild. You are always welcome to bring +1's to meetings, family is awesome too, many of you know I usually have my family there, I count my family as 1 entity so 20 unique regular entities would be the goal I see for the coming time, baby steps folks.

  8. We all have our own connections to trying to help these kids, well, Rady Children's is kind enough to share these stories with us, these are the same stories we share via the patient connection cards at recruitment events, read them, get to know the kids and their amazing stories. Follow THIS to check out the stories.
  9. I know we do our own game, but we are still in For The Kids, attending a walk like this, that's already affiliated with our CMN branch would get us exposure to a different audience than we would normally be able to access. You tend to see a lot of families at events like this, and sometimes can get media coverage. Let me explain the vision for something like this, moms & dads tend to bring their mid-kids with them to these "walks in the park" the kids are usually very interested to talk to something game driven, and their parents will usually take an interest in it at least long enough to let us tell them who we are, and what we believe. While it may not always be the exact group we are looking for, you never know who you are talking to, or who they will tell. That 11-yr old you tell today may tell friends or siblings, at a point it's about getting in front of as many people as you can, and telling them about Extra Life, or telling them how something they relate to, can benefit kids. Click HERE for more event Info, the walk is October 4th this year, just as we enter the home stretch before our November 7th day of play, what this means is we don't have to keep the excitement of new recruits up for as long as say, someone who registered in May. These events have minimal fundraising power since they are already fundraising for "our" hospital, but they do have a lot of eyes, very shortly before we need them most, I think events like this are well worth attending, and we should give it a go, how about it @carlyrickard ?
