1. It's almost Halloween! In honor of the scariest of holidays, we tackle Frictional Games' landmark horror title Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Developed by a small team that had previously created the Penumbra series, Amnesia: The Dark Descent released in 2010 arguably creating the biggest waves in the waning horror genre since the release of the original Resident Evil. It featured Daniel, an amnesiac who awakens in a gloomy castle with a note from his past self urging him to make his way to the heart of the castle complex while avoiding a malevolent entity bent on his destruction. It possessed no combat mechanics, instead purposefully disempowering players, encouraging them to run and hide from the various dangers throughout Castle Brennenburg. Each week we will be tackling a video game, old or new, that at least one of us believes deserves to stand as one of the greatest games of all time. We'll dive into its history, development, and gameplay, while trying to argue for or against the game of the week. Sometimes we will be in harmonious agreement, other times we might be fighting a bitter battle to the very end. However each episode shakes out, we hope that everyone who listens will find the show entertaining and informative. Outro music: Splatterhouse 3 'Call of the Mask' by Beckett007 (http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01772) You can download or listen to the podcast over on Soundcloud, our hosting site, and iTunes. A YouTube version is (sometimes) available as well, so you can watch what we are talking about while we talk about it! If you want to have your opinion heard on air, share your opinion in the comments, follow the show on Twitter, and participate in the weekly polls: @BestGamesPeriod New episodes of The Best Games Period will be released every Monday

3. Hey all! I have a Halloween stream scheduled for this Saturday at 1pm ET. It's my first stream after taking almost a year off, so I'll probably need some pitty views if you want to stop by Heck, if anything we can just chat about Game Day plans and swap ideas (I can't believe it's so close!) I'll be playing the Outlast 2 demo and Five Nights At Freddy's: Sister Location - maybe some DOOM if I have time. Twitch Channel See you there!
4. Ben Prunty, best known for his work composing for indie games, has released an album of music he describes as "Halloween electro-funk." The collection of six songs bares the title ElectroCrypt, an apt description for a darkly funky album. Prunty cites Danny Elfman, the SNES game Zombies Ate My Neighbors, and the OCRemix community as the inspirations for the album. ElectroCrypt was originally created as the soundtrack for the Early Access title FranknJohn, a roguelike about a reanimated boy who gains super powers and must escape a maniacal lab. Prunty decided to release the music early as a collection to celebrate his favorite holiday and help support his efforts to create his live show set. ElectroCrypt by Ben Prunty The full album contains six tracks at a total length of around sixteen minutes and costs $5. Definitely something to consider for those of you hosting a gaming-themed Halloween party!

7. Hey guys! My husband and I will be hosting a Halloween Horror Stream on Halloween day to get you hyped for your Halloween night festivities! We will be in costume, myself as the Cheshire Cat, and we will be playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent. We will start at 1pm and play until we can't take it anymore. The game is approximately 9 hours long, so we are aiming to beat it! Hope to see you there! www.twitch.tv/mokinns *Is anyone else doing something special for Halloween? I know Zyaldar has done his horror stream, so if you are doing one as well you should share it below!*
