***UPDATED POST*** In 2014 I created a fun challenge for myself. I wanted to play the 100's of games I had collected over the years. I wanted to play those games for Extra Life. I made simple rules. Play one game a day for 100 days up to the official national day of play for Extra Life, and then participate in the 24 hour marathon. I had no idea really how I would do this. I am not a young man, I have a wife, child and job. But I knew it was gesture to the kids and their families in Children's Miracle Network Hospitals who spend hours, days, weeks and years receiving treatment and care. And I would be able to play a ton of games. I would love it if you joined me and others in this challenge. Play what you want, how you want for 100 Days up until the national marathon (This year, 2016, it is November 5th). Use the hashtag #100daysofgaming on social media and use this forum to share your experiences, thoughts and feedback! Send me a direct message in this forum if you have any questions. Also, connect with @Zyaldar who has been instrumental in seeing that this challenge has grown this year and last. Here we go! ***UPDATED POST END*** ---Original Post--- Hello EL Forum folks! I have been playing games each day for the past 36 days. I have been trying to spread the word about Extra Life, earn some $ for the sick kids and have a great time. I won't lie, there are times when I have no views, but I have had a handful of folks chat with me about it so there is that. I play a new game everyday leading up to the main event on 10/25. If anyone is interested you can check it out. Heck join in, or whatever, lets get people pumped for October! Let me know your thoughts! Guild Challenge

Hello Atlanta Guild! This challenge is going to be about the ever popular PokemonGo. So while you are out catching them all, be sure to summit your catches to this forum topic and if you're all about bragging; post your forums link to the Atlanta Guild FB page . There is a hook however and that is while on your sojourn, be sure to talk to and recruit 5 or more people to Extra-Life before Aug 20th. Be sure to capture a pic and name! If they are avid PokemonGo'ers, you could even list their team (Valor, Instinct, or Mystic). Winners will be determined by number recruited (minimum five to be eligible) and by their Pokemon Posts! (difficulty, rarity, and spawn location) We will have some cool CHOA swag for your efforts at the next Guild meeting! A few hints to help break the ice! - where your Extra Life shirt or other Extra Life swag. - They play PokemonGo chances are they play other games too!

    #100DaysOfGaming

Hey ATL! During our last meeting I discussed a little bit about the upcoming challenge #100DaysOfGaming starting on 7/28. I want to take a moment to explain a few things about this challenge and perhaps get everyone hyped and/or motivated to try this challenge themselves. Please note that you do not have to stream in order to take this challenge. History To start, I want to give a little background info on this challenge. #100DaysOfGaming was started by @herobyclicking in 2014. After watching him take on this challenge it inspired me to accept it and try for 2015. After spreading awareness about this challenge we actually got about 12-15 others to take on this challenge as well. It's really fun searching for the tag, #100DaysOfGaming on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and seeing what games everyone is playing each day! HeroByClicking also started a thread for this challenge where we discuss and share various things about #100DaysOfGaming if you're interested in checking it out: How to? How do you participate? It's really simple! I have made a Facebook post that has the rules: https://tinyurl.com/100DaysOfGaming2016 This link can easily be shared with your friends and family to see if they want to take on this challenge as well. 1. Each day starting on 7/28 and for the next 100 days play a game. (Try for at least 1 hour.)2. If you can, try playing a different game each day.3. Post online what game you are playing and add the hashtags: #100DaysOfGaming, #ExtraLife, and #ForTheKids on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc...4. If you can, live stream your game and share your twitch with everyone! That's pretty much it! If you can, try for 100 different games. But if you don't have that much then just try to play for 100 days straight! Remember, the most important thing is to take a picture of either the game you are playing or a screenshot and post online with the tags, #100DaysOfGaming and #ExtraLife. This challenge is to bring about awareness to Extra Life but also to hopefully peak others interest and ask what is this #100DaysOfGaming? If you record your gameplay or streamed at all, remember to save your videos so that you can do something cool like this: (If you don't stream you could also make a video of all the pictures that you took. That would be cool too!)
  4. Since the beginning of the Extra Life movement, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and the ESA Foundation have been prolific partners. I’m thrilled to announce the kickoff of the 2015 ESA Foundation Extra Life Challenge. This is a chance for you to unlock a huge donation for your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital by doing what you do best; Playing Games to Heal Kids. This year, The ESA Foundation is offering up two $30,000 grants, for a total of $60,000 in life-saving funds! The Internet simply does not have enough bandwidth for us to fully transmit our gratitude. THANK YOU, ESA FOUNDATION! Two Winning Hospitals A donation of $30,000 is up for grabs for the hospital whose Extra Life gamers raise the most money overall by 9am CDT on Sunday, November 8th. Last year, that went to UCSF Beniof Children’s Hospital in the San Francisco/Oakland area. This particular “prize” favors bigger cities. Which is why… A second donation of $30,000 will be unlocked for the hospital whose gamers raise the most money per capita by 9am on Sunday, November 8th. For this we simply divide the number of dollars raised by the population of that market. Last year, the mighty Extra Lifers of Austin, Texas brought home this prize for local kids at Dell Children’s Medical Center. Nitty Gritty A hospital can only receive one of the two donations amounts. All funds submitted through our website prior to the deadline will be counted instantly towards the 2015 ESA Foundation-Extra Life Challenge. If you are submitting offline funds (Checks) they must be received no later than Monday, November 2nd in order to be processed and credited to your hospital before the deadline.Funds can be received after the deadline, they just won’t count towards this challenge. Make the biggest difference Obviously the more you can raise for sick and injured local kids in your area, the better your hospital’s chances of getting these critical funds. An even better way to skew the odds in your favor is to simply recruit more people in your community to join Extra Life. Did you know that the average donation is $35, but the average amount raised by someone you recruit is $100? If you can get a friend to join Extra Life, you’ll be making triple the impact for this challenge and For The Kids. About ESA Foundation Created by the American entertainment software industry, the ESA Foundation works to make a positive difference in the lives of America’s youth. ESA Foundation creates educational opportunities by providing scholarships to the next generation of industry innovators and supporting organizations that leverage entertainment software and technology. The proceeds from a signature annual fundraiser, Nite to Unite – for Kids and other charitable initiatives support this mission.
