Hey guys! To all of you that are new to the forums... Welcome!!! EL has spent a lot of time on making the forums a friendly and easy to use area and like we said at our guild meetings, we are slowly moving away from FB and focusing more on the forums! There are a few folks that know the forums pretty well, Bobby and Keith specifically come to mind so if you have any questions feel free to drop them a line as well! You can upload photos, create events on the calendar, join other guilds in discussions and more!!! _____________________________________________ For this post let's begin with baby steps... intoductions!!! Let us know a little about you and your favorite games! My name is Jillian, I've been an EL player for going on 5 years . I am currently the president of the RVA guild and I adore cosplay! I LOVE video games!!! Be it console or handheld you can find me gaming in my downtime. RPG is my go to genre and from there I enjoy fps in the style of bioshock and so on. I will basically play anything but tend to stay away from sports, racing and 2d platformers (I'm more a spyro/crash kinda girl!) What about you???
Hey fellow GR Extra Lifers! I thought it would be great to get to know each other a little more, especially for those who aren't always able to make it to the meetings. So tell us all a little about yourself. Why you joined EL, what you do for a living, video games ya like, or anything else we might find interesting. Feel free to post links to YouTube pages, Facebooks, Twitches, Twitters, or anything else ya have! I'll go first... My name is Aaron and I'm originally from the UP (well Jackson, really, but mostly the UP) and I work for Spectrum Health Medical Group doing medical coding. It's actually at work that I actually learned more about Extra Life thanks to @Viedt, or Phil The President. I had known of EL before this but the Guild actually got me to pursue it. I love games and being able to help change kids lives through gaming is something special. Speaking of games... I am a big RPG fan. Final Fantay is the best, as is Zelda, the Tales series, Mass Effect, and the Souls games. I play mostly on the PS3 or 4 these days due to a slowly aging PC. My PSN is aarongutch32 if anyone wants to add me. I also stream games! I had so much fun doing the 24 hour marathon for EL last year that I decided to do it in my spare time. I have a lot of fun with it and it's a great way to raise money for EL. I'm streaming Dark Souls at the moment and you can find my channel below in my signature. I also do some streaming on the Extra Life Twitch channel Sunday nights at 11PM. The #ExtraLife #StreamTeam promotes Extra Life and attempts to get as many people signed up as we can. There are a lot of good people on that channel. You can find someone streaming most Wed-Sun after 5 or so. You can find that channel at twitch.tv/extralife4kids. So go there, follow the channel, and spread that good word! This is going a bit longer than I intended so I'll stop now. Now it's your turn! Tell us about yourself, GR Extra Lifers!
Hey guys! Our little RVA Guild just keeps growing and growing!!!! I find one of the best ways to get to know someone is by talking about something they like... and since we're all already part of Extra Life... an easy topic is VIDEO GAMES!!! So let's introduce ourselves and give a quick blurb about what our favorite video game is and why!!! To kick things off: My name is Jillian Ryan, I'm the EL RVA Guild President My favorite game of all time (it's hard to pick!) is Chrono Trigger (all variations!). It was the first game to ever make me tear up and the story will stick with me forever! Also amazing music and great graphics!
Hello and Good Afternoon, My name is Eric "Baztastic" Pogue, and I am the event coordinatior and streamer for STL BarWarz, a competitive fighting game organization here in Saint Louis. We've operated for the past 5+ years at Danno's American Pub and have recently moved out to Concord Lanes in Sunset Hills for a stretch. I am super excited that this will be our first year participating in Extra Life. I didn't initially think we'd have much traction with it, since I kinda sorta launched this project out of the blue just 5 days ago, but in those 5 days, we so far have $350 raised, already breaking our first team goal, and I dont even have teammates yet! Since are just starting out endeavors for our stream event, we will likely be having our stream day on the first Saturday in December, and once I have more information confirmed, I'll be sure to share it. It's an honor to be doing this with the many talented STL streamers we have (shoutouts to the ScreenWatchers!) and I cannot wait for this to go down. All this leads me to an actual technical question I'm hoping someone can answer for me: with TwitchAlerts, is it somehow possible to display the progress we are having with EL 2015? Since you need to know the PayPal account info in order to attach it to your Twitch, I'm fearful there is not. I don't necessarily like the idea of people directly donating to our PayPal due to the 1% cut TA takes, as I would like to keep the 100% donation spirit alive here. Hope to hear a reply from someone soon, and be sure to catch us LIVE tonight at www.twitch.tv/stlbarwarz at 7:30! It's our Halloween Part and EL event announcement! Should be hype!
