    Extra Life United Trip

What's up ladies and gents. With Extra Life United just around the corner I just wanted to share some information. As you probably (or don't) already know, i'll be going this year. With that in mind I will be taking a ton of pictures and videos. One thing I will most definitely be doing is using snapchat like crazy. Cause well, its much easier than uploading on any other social media. So if you want to follow along and see what goes on, just follow me. Also if anyone else is going well let me know, we gotta meet up and show some Los Angeles Guild pride!!
  2. We understand you may be waiting to register and book your flights for Extra Life United 2016 until more information on what you'd be getting yourself into is out there. Well, wait no more! Especially because registration will be closing at 11:59pm EST on Monday, February 8th! TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE Extra Life United 2016 will feature a round robin style tournament, where participants accumulate points for their performance each round. Participants will be placed in pods of 4-8 players depending on the track (PC, Console or Tabletop) and play a few different games with points being awarded to each round’s winners. On Thursday afternoon, the top 3 participants from each pod will be recognized and awarded prize money for their chosen Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. The first place participant from each pod will move on to the final round of the tournament and compete to win a portion of the Grand Prize Pool (a minimum of $100,000) for their hospital. Participants will be assigned to pods and have a chance to meet their competitors Tuesday night at the Extra Life Welcome Meeting. TOURNAMENT GAMES If you tuned into the official Extra Life Game Day broadcast last year, it should be no surprise that Rocket League is a team favorite. We hope it is one of yours too as it will be one of the games featured in the PC and Console tracks. If you’re thinking about signing up for the Tabletop track, we suggest you start practicing your bartering skills because some intense games of Settlers of Catan will be going down. We thought it would be fun to keep you on your toes and have element of surprise to your Extra Life United experience. Below are the complete game lists for each track. Note that we won't have time to get to all of the games listed (you can count on Rocket League and Settlers of Catan) so choose wisely on which games you spend your time practicing. Console Track Madden 16, Just Dance 2015, Halo 5, Quiplash, FIFA 16, Street Fighter, Rocket League PC Track Hearthstone, Rocket League, SpeedRunners, DOTA 2, StarCraft II, Heroes of the Storm, League of Legends Tabletop Track Settlers of Catan, Blokus, Bananagrams, Sushi Go!, Fluxx, Connect Four, Boggle, Liar's Dice WAIT, THERE’S MORE! The fun doesn’t end when the tournament does. On Thursday, we’ve set up an “Open Play Night” for ELU attendees and our patient Champion families who will be there. Attendees will be able to game with and meet some of the kiddos that their involvement with Extra Life has had a direct impact on. These are some of the bravest kids you’ll ever meet who have gone through unimaginable hardships. While unlocking extra fundraising dollars for your hospital is great, gaming with these kids on Thursday night is the real reason you should register for Extra Life United 2016. You can 'meet' all of the Children Miracle Network Hospital Champion families from every state and province by reading their stories here. Those are all the updates for now. If you're on the fence about registering, decide quickly! While this event is something we wish everyone in the community could experience, spots are limited and registration is closing soon. For a complete schedule of events, visit the Extra Life United website here. REGISTER NOW! Hope to see you in Orlando, Jeromy, Mike, Rick, Liz & Laurie Team Extra Life Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals View full article

Our 2016 event, announced a couple of weeks ago, will be held at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, FL on Feb 23-26. Participants will experience the mission of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, meet fellow Extra Lifers from all over the world, and will compete in gaming events to win a ton of money for their local CMN Hospital. For a better feel for what Extra Life United is all about, check out the video at the bottom of this post. Registration for Extra Life United 2016 IS NOW OPEN to the Extra Life community. YOU CAN REGISTER AT THIS LINK Exactly 500 tickets to this event will be available on a first-come first served basis. You must be a registered Extra Lifer to attend ELU. The registration fee of $199 for ELU 2016 includes select meals during the tournament, entry fee, event shirt, and many Momentum events. During registration, participants may also add spectator passes for $49 each. Spectator passes are not currently available as a standalone purchase The registration site will also provide you with some suggestions and information on lodging and airfare selection, as well as providing answers to what we believe will be frequently asked questions. As a reminder, there will be three tracks to choose from during the registration process. You may pick one track during registration. Those tracks are: Board/Tabletop Gaming Video Games (PC) Video Games (Console) The exact lineup of games we'll be playing at ELU is still being put together, but please don't let that hold you back from registration. While very much a tournament, any previous ELU attendee will tell you there is much much more to the experience. Remember, we have only a limited number of tickets available, and when they're gone, they're gone. For a preview of what's in store for you at ELU 2016, check out this awesome recap video from our event last year, made by all-star Extra Lifer Steve Mathis. View full article
