Interested in being more involved with Extra Life? Come on out to our monthly guild meeting! Our meetings are open to everyone. Meeting will start between 6:00 - 6:15pm and usually last about an hour. After the meeting is over, we play games! If you just want to play games, you're welcome to come out too! We usually start games around 7:00 - 7:15pm and play as long as we like (until the store closes, anyway). We pick three featured titles each month, and The Comic Signal has been kind enough to offer players a 15% discount should they decide to take one of them home. It's a great way to learn new games and meet new gamers!

Coming up in March we are planning a Video Game themed art show and we wanted to connect with Extra Life to come out to the event and play/raise money during the show. If anyone is interested or can give the best way to about this that would be awesome! Thank you very much!

It's a common misconception that Extra Life is solely a video game marathon, when in reality, we had over 15,000 people participate by playing tabletop games just last year! We’re excited to announce that on Saturday, Sept. 23 we will be kicking off the third annual Extra Life Tabletop Appreciation Weekend! Think of Tabletop Appreciation Weekend as the pre-party for the crazy fun that will go down on Game Day on Nov. 4th. Thousands of our #EXTRALIFETabletop supporters will be creating Extra Life teams, playing their favorite games and sharing Extra Life with their friends and fans. Let's give a shout out to tabletop players everywhere for their relentless support of our hospitals and the families they treat!
  10. Hey everybody! Otakon is a little over a week away and we're in need of volunteers. Otakon is one of our busiest events of the year, so it would be great if we could get a lot of table coverage without burning people out. If you're going to be there and would like to help out (or if you don't already have a badge and want to see what all the fuss is about) please head over to the forums and respond to our calendar event: Even if you can only help out for a couple hours, every little bit helps! Thanks guys, and keep up the great work.
  11. Hey all, Just wondering if we have ironed out the details for the team members that want to go to the con and represent! I would like to be there and can commit to both days!!!! ( I like cons) Also, I can bring, anything tech that we might need. I know some people mentioned bringing a console? Any who, hopefully we get some replies and get something worked out! Talk soon, thank you
  12. Hey everyone! We have another exciting opportunity to volunteer coming up with Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo! I personally have not been to this one but from the sounds of it they are growing and they love having us there! SFGE has given us 2 badges that we can swap out in shifts during this event. Depending on how many people would like to attend will determine the length of the shifts. Also in addition to recruiting at a table, SFEG has asked us for 2-3 members to help them with their "Class of '82" tournament! These will be additional volunteers that will help them from about 11:30 - 1pm on Saturday. If you are interested please let me know as soon as possible because they need to know if the next 2 days. Here is our volunteer signup sheet: Please let me know as soon as possible if you would be interested in helping the tournament! Update 05/26/2017

  18. Hey gamers, My son and I have started sharing our gaming experiences on YouTube in June 2016 and I have been using this as a way to provide family-friendly entertainment and to "gamify" important life lessons such as proper planning, internet etiquette, overcoming adversity, building confidence, etc. and so far, it's been an amazing adventure! The week after Christmas after a recording session, he came to me and said that he asked if we could give the money that we are making from the platform to the community, more specifically to help children that are fighting for their lives. What really touched me from his behavior was that for a 7-year old, thinking of giving back instead of asking for a new video game or something that he may be able to play with was incredible! Since he asked and one of our core family values is the importance of helping our peers by giving back, I have looked into what we could plan together for children. And I have found After researching, looking at the videos that explained the history behind this beautiful movement and community, I knew that this was the one that we were going to do it for. More importantly, the ability to help a local foundation made it even more special! We have been planning this event for a few weeks now and I have found myself feeling so rewarded for the amount of time that I have put through promoting the event, getting some game development studios sponsor us with some game keys to giveaway, making graphics for shirts and even wrist bands, spreading the word to get people from all over the world to watch and encourage us... this is a calling that's been dormant within me that I'm excited to begin and repeat throughout the year. Enough blabbering, on to the important stuff. We are doing this even on January 27th. We are starting at 6pm EST and we are going for the full 24-hours. Of course, the little one won't be there for the entire duration but there will be scheduled events where he will be joining me for some good fun. If any of you are interested in joining us by watching, here are the details; Youtube: Twitch: Beam: If YOU want to come and watch or simply want to extend the reach by sharing this post, it would be tremendously appreciated. The more people we can have, the more donations that we can get for this amazing cause, the better! If you want to support our effort, you can also check out our donation page and/or our event wrist bands! They are $5 (USD) each and $2 from each sale will be donated to the charity. Donation page: Event Wrist bands: Although we have streamed in the past and we are very comfortable with the technical "behind the scenes" stuff, if you have any best practices from your previous experiences, please share them, we'd like to know! Hoping to be able to make a difference! K.

  20. Hi all! I spoke to the people at Cecil Con and they'd like to have us back again this year. They have two spots they can put us, there's a section for information booths off to the side as people come in. They also have a video game demo room where they can set up a table for us. I'm inclined to go with the game room location. Last year the information booth section was a little secluded and didn't get a whole lot of traffic. Also the people going to the game room would be more in line with our target demographic. Let me know what you all think and I'll get back to the Cecil Con people!

  22. Hey all, I talked to Cindy and she wasn't able to squeeze us in to the Halloween event at Johns Hopkins Children's Center for this year, but we are confirmed for next year! Unless my employment situation changes drastically I should be able to help out next year as well, but we can get to staffing it later. Much later
  23. Due to another EL event I want to be a part of on November 5th, I will be doing my marathon early this year! This Saturday, I'm going to do my 25 hours. I will be doing all the game giveaway stuff and I'll hopefully have some silly inventives planned out. Any support y'all can give would be fantastic XD I've also decided to try a loose schedule of events this year instead of playing one game the whole time or winging it as I go. We'll see how well I stick to it throughout the day, but I'm gonna do my best! You can find that schedule here if you're interested. Thanks!
