  1. Just finished Uncharted 4 last night. Moving on to Ratchet and Clank!
  2. I still haven't even finished Uncharted. I'm a terrible gamer.
  3. It all depends how many people attend. There is only one cabinet, so if a bunch of people sign up, then it would be a long night. My thought was, we could do the starting brackets on a console (could be SF5 on ps4s or 2 on SNES) then do the finals on the cabinet.

@itsjacobes and myslef attended a local wrestling event to try and recruit!
  5. Many of you have already seen the news, but just incase you missed it, we're happy to announce that Boxcar Bar + Arcade is now making the Extra Life Raleigh-Durham Guild a regular partner in their community efforts. Starting next month, we'll be featured on their "Drink for a Cause" charity night on a bi-monthly basis. This means, that every two months, Boxcar will be donating 15% of the day's sales directly to Duke Children's Hospital. In addition, we'll be helping them run their monthly tournaments. Personally, I'm really excited about this. It means we have a consistent recruitment event to attend every month. Boxcar has been a great partner for us and we're thrilled to do even better things with them, all for the kids. Our first tournament is coming up quickly on June 1st and we need some ideas on what we can help run. So far they've held a Mario Kart + Super Smash Bros tournament. The Smash tournament was very successful and had a big attendance. Let's hear some ideas on what we can do. Keep in mind that this doesn't need to be overly complicated. Infact, due to the nature of Boxcar(busy, loud bar) the more simple the tournament, the better. I was thinking of maybe doing a simple Street Fighter 2 tournament. We could start off on the SNES consoles in the back of the bar and have the finals on the arcade cabinet. What do you think?

Who doesn't love Christmas? It's too bad it's only once a year. Expect...it's happening this June at Duke Children's Hospital! Once again, the BB&T Lighthouse Project is organizing their yearly "Christmas in June Carnival"! This is a great opportunity for us to spend some time with the kids we're trying to help. This is purely a day of video-game fun with the kiddos. No recruitment. Other activities include carnival games, prizes, superheros, disney princesses and much more! Hope to see you there! Location: Duke Children's Hospital - 2301 Erwin Road, Durham, NC 27710 Date: Wednesday, June 8th Time: 9:00AM - 1:30PM
  7. Congrats man! Can you change your name to OfficerSam?
  8. Hahaha! I love that you still posted it!
  9. I'm not really sure who we could reach out to. I'm not too familiar with the festival. As soon as I saw the ridiculous ticket prices a while back, I completely ignored it haha. Maybe we could reach out to one of the gamer friendly bars like The Social? Remember, we have the Microsoft event on the 22nd.
  10. I bought a new TV and took the day off work for this game. Can't. Wait.
  11. The 2016 World Video Game Hall of fame announced their new additions. The following titles have been added... Grand Theft Auto III, The Legend of Zelda, The Oregon Trail, The Sims, Sonic the Hedgehog and Space Invaders What do you think? What titles would you add?

The Extra Life Raleigh-Durham Guild will be in attendance on June 22nd to help run a gaming tournament and of course, recruit! The best part? 15% of the night's profits will be donated directly to Duke Children's Hospital. More details to come when we figure out exactly which games we'll be helping run. Put on your wrestling boots! The Raleigh-Durham Guild is getting into the squared circle! We're happy to announce that local wrestling promotion, GOUGE Wrestling has invited us to be a part of their events. All of their events are super family friendly and always have plenty of food trucks, beer and other fun! The majority of their events take place in RDU. However, this particular one is in Smithfield. It's about a 40 min drive away, so let us know if you can make it and we'll figure out a car-pool. @itsjacobes and I were planning on going anyway, so we figured, why not turn it into a recruitment event!? Location: Double Barley Brewing - 3174 US-70, Smithfield, NC 27577 Time: 4:00PM - 9:00PM
