  1. Hi Rick,

I am really looking forward to the guild meet up in Toronto.

I was hoping you'd be able to let me know who I can contact for this - I would like to put my name in the ring for president of the guild in Toronto. I am a hardworking, organized individual who has personally spent time in the Toronto SickKids hospital. It holds a special place in my heart and I am more than thrilled for this opportunity.

    Thanks.

Hi @Sloppyderek! I can help you out with this.

The Toronto Guild Launch is happening on Thursday, March 31st at 6PM. You can find out details and a link to RSVP over on the Toronto Guild Calendar.

Self-nominations for Officer positions are taken at the launch event. You'll be able to meet someone from the Extra Life national team as well as the hospital's CMN Rep.

I'm tagging @LeaveIt2Beaver in case I'm wrong with any of the above information.

      I hope this helps! Cheers!

    Ideas?

Just some thoughts about places that have worked well for other guilds: The hospital. Barcades. Microsoft Stores. It might be a good idea to choose a place and time for your first official meeting and then put 'future meeting dates and locations' on the agenda so all those who show up can have input. Since the people who show up to that meeting are likely to be the most consistent group of attendees it would be a good idea to get their input directly.

    Logo Ideas

Hi Ey3zonly! Looks really good, but I do need to ask that you follow the guidelines. Especially the part that no colors other than the official Extra Life colors included in the template be used. The guild's logo should reflect your community, not the entire state. Is there something local that is iconic? some structure, building, natural landmark? To give you an idea of what the end result should look like, here are some of the home pages of guilds who have had their logos approved. http://community.extra-life.org/Anchorage http://community.extra-life.org/indianapolis http://community.extra-life.org/portland-ME http://community.extra-life.org/sanantonio http://community.extra-life.org/spokane

    Guild Launch

  6. "that's so childish" My response would be along the lines of.... Well.. we are doing this to help children. So it's important that it be something some of these kids can not just appreciate and relate to, but participate in. Many of the kids we're trying to help actually participate too. Some while they're receiving treatment for some pretty scary diseases. All so other kids might not have to go through the same thing. A lot of the folks participating are parents who have kids that were treated at these hospitals, too. I'm ok doing something childish if it means I can help save a life or heal a sick kid.

    Now what?

You guys should all feel free to share the URL to the Guild's home page: http://community.extra-life.org/knoxville Once the officers are announced their contact info will be added to that page. In the mean time everyone can sign up through that page and can see discussions you guys are having as well as event dates once the guild is in full swing and posting the dates and locations of where they'll be recruiting.

    Now what?

Hi! The next step will be announcing the guild's officers. Once that's done, those officers will get to work on setting up the guild's next meeting and starting to plan which events to attend and really get the ball rolling!
