  1. Hey folks!

I am really excited to be bringing Pinball into the mix this year with a pinball tournament on Extra Life play day, November 2nd!

This will be my 10th year taking part in Extra LIfe and now that I play pinball primarily,  it only felt right to run a pinball event for Extra Life.

    Location:

Pinball Gallery - 81 Lancaster Avenue - Malvern, PA

    Tournament Overview

    Tournament Date: November 02, 2019

The first ever Roller Rumble will occur November 2nd, where players will be asked to submit scores across a selection of 4 games from the games available. Players will be allowed to play more than one card but must complete the card they are working on before beginning another. The venue is none other than Pinball Gallery, located in Malvern, PA and will be open to the public if seats are still available for the tournament. With more than 70 games at the location, there will be a nice selection of games included in the tournament, and other games available to be played during any downtime.

Price for pre-registration will be $30, which will cover the cost of full-day admittance to Pinball Gallery, entry into the tournament and your first qualifying card. Games will be set to free play, so no coin drop will be required.

The top 16 players will then take part in a 1 game, 3 round playoff to determine the winner. Prizes will be rewarded to all players making the playoffs, with the winner earning the Roller Rumble Championship belt, a beautifully built replica belt designed by Undisputed Belts.

All profits from the tournament will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network via the Extra Life charity livestream marathon taking place that day. We hope to see you there!

If you see this,  are in the Philadelphia area, and wish to take part,  I will begin accepting pre-registrations soon. Any questions? email habermanstephenATGmail

We will be attempting to live stream the full event from 6am EST - 6pm EST Both Saturday and Sunday November 4 and 5th!

    • Thanks 1

  3. Just to share. I have been using the PC Remote Play for livestreaming and it has been excellent. I have the ps4 wired and the pc wired, so there is only a very small amount of lag (just enough to make pinball arcade quite a bit more difficult.) But,  I am loving it. Keep in mind, if you use this, be sure to change the remote play settings to improve the video quality.

@TheGeekyHusband - sorry I have been away, due to a family event this weekend. I will reach out to the TMG people and see if they have any feedback.  Will also need to defer to you on some of the logistics (setup is generally mid-day, on Friday, June 24th) and unfortunately my challenger is not really arcade machine friendly. Thanks for the offer though

No worries. the arcade cabinet was an idea i wanted to float out there. Logistics are not going to work out.

  5. Maybe we can begin this next week. February has Valentine's Day and is the 2nd month of the year.

So, we can call it couples month, and could focus content on anything that has a two in it.

Coop games, sequels, dating simulators, games with strong co-leads (i.e. Ratchet and Clank,)

    Thoughts?

  6. I am expecting my firstborn in two weeks, so I unfortunately cannot sign up for WW Philly, but i have worked that event in the past as the Marketing Manager of a comic publisher (Zenescope). I believe I should have some free time by the time TooManyGames roles around an would be happy to attend for the guild. I also have a portable screen (the ones Gaems makes) that I could bring along to help entertain. I live minutes from Oaks, so travel to the event would be easy.

Let me know if I could be of any help.

  7. Wanted to connect with any other ExtraLifers who play Heroes of the Storm.

Heroes of the Storm is the upcoming MOBA for Blizzard Entertainment, featuring characters from each of their popular game franchises, Diablo, World of Warcraft, and Starcraft.

The game simplified the MOBA mechanics a bit by not offering items to build onto each character as the game progresses, only allowing players to choose their talents. Also, there is no "last hitting" in the game. You only need to have presence in the lane to earn the experience from the defeat of enemy minions.

For a guide of that discusses the map mechanics, characters, classes and guides on how to play, check out the wiki i put together on IGN: http://www.ign.com/wikis/heroes-of-the-storm

This year marks my fifth year doing Extra Life. I am an avid gamer, social media consultant for the games industry, and freelance journalist.

I have been taking part in Extra Life because I believe it is the best way to show that the gaming community can give back, and follows a motto I live by: Do something you love and something you're good at. I am good at social media promotion and I love gaming. Putting that together for a good cause is all the more reason to do it.

I have every current generation console and enjoy just about every genre. I am a big fan of Blizzard's games as well as PS4, Vita, Xbox One, WiiU and PC games. Spelunky, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo, Disney Infinity, and the Assassins Creed franchise take up most of my gaming attention.
