  1. So far I'm enjoying it, however its not the "be-all end-all" kind of game I was hoping for. At least not yet. Maybe it'll be one of those titles that I'll love more and more the more I play. Time will tell I suppose. And I definitely picked up the expansions. All in all I got the game for the XBox One, a poster, and the expansions for $33, and all without a pre-order! Not a bad deal I'd say!! Oh, and Titan all the way!
  2. As cliche as a lot of you may think this is, I personally feel like the greatest (overall) video game soundtrack of all time has to be that of Final Fantasy VII. Nobuo Uematsu is a master composer, but this is especially apparent on the FFVII OST. Having said that, I'm also partial to the Skyrim and Chrono series soundtracks. Those are fantastic works as well. And to be perfectly honest, my favorite guilty pleasure soundtrack has to be the original Killer Instinct soundtrack! I'll still go back and listen to those cheesy (but extremely catchy) techno tunes!
  3. Wasn't that game AWESOME?!? Oh, and I DEFINITELY got down on some console Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct. Was pretty much undefeated in my neighborhood.
  4. While Super Mario World and Super Mario AllStars were definitely favorites of mine too, I'm a little older. I grew up with the Atari 2600 and NES. One of my all-time favorites on the NES was Dick Tracy. You actually had separate cases to solve and you did so by visiting various locations around town, beating up hoods, and then interrogating bad guys to get the clues needed to solve the crimes. Once you had enough clues and thought you had it figured out you could go make your accusation. It was awesome. Think a very primitive L.A. Noire (A gem of a game I've beaten about 6 times over by the way)! Of course there were also classics like Contra and Excitebike as well. Oh, and I was killer at R.C. Pro AM! And on the Atari, there was this amazing game called Journey Escape based on the band Journey where you had to avoid crazed fans and paparazzi and make it to a space ship to get away and it had a killer (for its time) soundtrack of (you guessed it) Journey music!!

    MineCRACK?

Okay, so who plays Minecraft on the XBox 360 or now on the XBox One? I, sadly, play on both. What can I say? Its addictive man!
  6. Welcome everyone to the message boards! Its so awesome to meet so many gamers from all over the country, all with a passion for giving back through Extra-Life! And its so cool to hear all your stories about how long everyone's been doing this, why you're all doing it, and how you all got into it in the first place!
  7. I've given this question a lot of thought over the last couple of months. A LOT of thought. And the conclusion that I've come to is that no amount of planning ahead will mean anything when all is said and done. Because despite what I may have my sights set on playing, or what I may have planned out ahead of time, I'm sure several factors are going to come into play that I have no way of anticipating including how I'm going to feel on that particular day, how much energy I'm going to have going into or going through the event (i.e. how much sleep I was actually able to get the night before, etc.), what my friends or other gamers around me (if I play in a public setting) are going to want to play, and so on and so forth. So while I can speculate and hope for the best, all I can say is I'm excited for whatever may come my way, but really I'm just along for the ride!
  8. I really like this idea a lot. I'm going to see if maybe we could do something like this in a corner of the Best Buy I work at one day, or maybe even in the Barnes & Noble next door. I'll let you know what comes of it.
  9. I do this for people like Sean Rooney. Because I am a father of 3 healthy children and I can't even begin to imagine what he is going through. It tears me up inside to even try. He has more strength than I'm sure I could muster up in a million years to be powering through such a tragedy in his life and in the life of his son. And if what I do with Extra-Life can bring even the smallest amount of light to the dark world that these children and their families like Sean find themselves in, then it is worth it to me. Like I say on my donation page, these children and their families deserve every second of my time, and then some. So I do what I can. Good luck Sean.
  10. So I finally have a picture of the machine we're giving away. I just finished refurbishing it myself last night. I think it turned out pretty good! I'm excited to show it off at the Extra-Life booth we're going to have at the Video Games Live concert this weekend!
  11. So far I've raised $600 (60%) of my overall goal of $1,000. So I still have a ways to go, but I'm getting there!
  12. So I worked all morning and I'm running errands all afternoon, but I'm hoping to have some time this evening to hop on and get playing if you're on and still interested!
  13. I tried getting into it, but never had anyone to play it with and it always just seemed sort of 'empty' playing by myself. So I stopped playing not too far into it. But I'd still like to give it another go if I had a crew to run with. Anyone maybe interested in playing some on or before October 25th?
