first time participating - need help with setting up an event

Hi.

 

 I live in SE Wisconsin and this is the first year that I am participating. I have a local gaming store that is willing to host an event but they're looking for more information on what they would need to do for that. Is there any information online on how a store would go about hosting an event?  I'm looking for any kind of guidance that anyone can give me on what to do. I've tried reaching out to my local guild but to be honest, they weren't really that helpful.
