Aevum Decessus 3 Posted January 19, 2018 Boardgame Geek links for the board gamers: Machi Koro: https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/143884/machi-koro Machi Koro Harbor Expansion: https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgameexpansion/143789/machi-koro-harbor Machi Koro is a fast-paced game for 2-4 players. Each player wants to develop the city on their own terms in order to complete all of the landmarks under construction faster than their rivals. On their turn, each player rolls one or two dice. If the sum of the dice rolled matches the number of a building that a player owns, they get the effect of that building; in some cases opponents will also benefit from your die (just as you can benefit from theirs). Then, with money in hand a player can build a landmark or a new building, ideally adding to the wealth of their city on future turns. The first player to construct all of their landmarks wins! Downforce: https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/215311/downforce Downforce is a card-driven bidding, racing, and betting game for 2-6 players based on Top Race, the award-winning design by the legendary Wolfgang Kramer. Players first bid to own the six cars in the race, then they play cards from their hand to speed them around the track. However, most cards will also move their opponents' cars. So figuring out just the right time to play a card is the key to victory. Along the way, players make secret bets on who they think will win the race. Whoever has the most money from their prize money, winning bets, and remaining bank wins. Splendor (the only repeat from 2017) https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/148228/splendor Splendor is a game of chip-collecting and card development. Players are merchants of the Renaissance trying to buy gem mines, means of transportation, shops—all in order to acquire the most prestige points. If you're wealthy enough, you might even receive a visit from a noble at some point, which of course will further increase your prestige. Sagrada: https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/199561/sagrada Draft dice and use the tools-of-the-trade in Sagrada to carefully construct your stained glass window masterpiece. In more detail, each player builds a stained glass window by building up a grid of dice on their player board. Each board has some restrictions on which color or shade (value) of die can be placed there. Dice of the same shade or color may never be placed next to each other. Dice are drafted in player order, with the start player rotating each round, snaking back around after the last player drafts two dice. Scoring is variable per game based on achieving various patterns and varieties of placement...as well as bonus points for dark shades of a particular hidden goal color. anTsocialGamer 9 Posted January 24, 2018 If you were on top of it, and claimed it when it was available, Tricky Towers was a PlayStation Plus game for PS4, some months back. You might check to see if you already "own" it. Rocket League, of course, was also a PlayStation Plus offering, but you probably already know that.
waterboysh 21 Posted January 31, 2018 When will we know the brackets? I plan on signing up for video games, except for the bracket that has rocket league. So I'd like to know which tabletop game will be going on then.
