The second most sold game of all time, Wii Sports dominated gaming culture and beyond when it released on the Wii back in 2006. Bundled with the Wii and sold on the promise of bringing gamers and non-gamers together, Wii Sports made waves for being the harbinger of a new wave of motion controlled games that would change the landscape of gaming forever. While the promise of what the Wii could deliver ultimately fell shorter than what many had hoped, Wii Sports remains as a fond memory for many. Is it one of the best games period?
We ran into some technical difficulties with Daniel's audio this week. Apologies if the somewhat garbled sound detracts from what is otherwise a very fun episode!
Each week we will be tackling a video game, old or new, that at least one of us believes deserves to stand as one of the greatest games of all time. We'll dive into its history, development, and gameplay, while trying to argue for or against the game of the week. Sometimes we will be in harmonious agreement, other times we might be fighting a bitter battle to the very end. However each episode shakes out, we hope that everyone who listens will find the show entertaining and informative.

Also, we made a very rough cut of some of the Overwatch shorts and animatics into a short film-thing. Transitions and sound editing are shaky and there isn't a solid conclusion, but it is a work in progress that will be expanded and improved on as Blizzard releases more Overwatch footage. We just made it for fun, so hopefully you enjoy it!
New episodes of The Best Games Period will be released every Monday
