Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Depicts The Horrors of Nazi-Occupied America

Marcus Stewart

Wolfenstein: The New Order was a surprise hit when it launched in 2014 thanks to its well-designed throwback gameplay and surprisingly weighty emotional storytelling. BJ Blazkowicz is back and is taking the fight home to Nazi-occupied America.

After apparently surviving the grave injuries he sustained during the New Order's conclusion, BJ awakens in a hospital bed after a what appears to have been a lengthy coma. Despite killing Deathshed in the first game, the Nazis control of the world remains ironclad. This includes the United States, a country who's values have been twisted to fit the Nazis vision. BJ embarks on a mission to unite America's scattered resistance forces and release the Nazis grip on his homeland.

Gunplay looks to be as exciting and over-the-top as ever, featuring bombastic gun fights against killer robots, crocodiles, and fire-breathing mechanized behemoths. The New Order's balance of human characterization and storytelling combined with a pulpy element of humor appears intact as well.

Players can begin the fight to take back America when the game launches October 27. How do you think the game stacks up to The New Order?
