Dice kicked off EA Play by dropping some details on Battlefield V's multiplayer. They also confirmed the World War II shooter's rumored battle royale mode.
A trailer cinematic gameplay trailer highlighted the game's improved destruction, as well as new mechanics such as vaulting through windows. Players will now be able to customize the appearance of characters, weapons, and vehicles.
A "reimagined" battle royale mode will retain the series' focus on teamwork, vehicles, and destruction. Destruction will be a major focus of this release. With explosions taking apart fortifications and tanks being able to plow through buildings, the digital battlefields will constantly be shifting. Dice didn't reveal any more than that, but promised to dive deeper into it later this year.
Finally, Dice briefly touched on the War Stories campaign, stating we'll get our first look at it during Microsoft's E3 briefing tomorrow. In the meantime, check out Battlefield V's multiplayer trailer below.
EA also stated that fans can expect to see the reveal of one of their story campaigns at Microsoft's press conference tomorrow.
Battlefield V will release on October 19 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
